EM&E Group brings together more than 80 companies in Barcelona to outline its commitment to Catalan industry

Under the slogan “New defense programs. A driving force for the industry,” EM&E Group held an event yesterday in Barcelona that brought together more than 80 industrial companies and startups from Catalonia.

During the event, the company outlined its growth plans and the investments it intends to make in the region, which will total more than 38.5 million euros by 2026. EM&E Group has long been committed to the talent and strength of Catalonia’s industrial ecosystem, as evidenced by the growth in purchases from local suppliers over the past few years, exceeding 17 million euros in 2024, a figure that rose to over 23 million in 2025, the year in which the company became a shareholder in Ideaded, another company in the region, acquiring a 5.8% stake.

This commitment to Catalonia is also evident in the company’s establishment in Barcelona last year with a technical office focused on software development and artificial intelligence. In this space, it has been building a highly qualified technical team that leads the company’s software division, whose defense and security systems are deployed in nearly 30 countries.

In addition, EM&E Group also explained how the new Special Modernization Programs (PEM) launched by the Ministry of Defense will serve as a major driving force for the economy, boosting growth across the entire supply chain and driving the entire industry forward. The company’s goal, which, as part of the joint venture formed with Indra, has been awarded the two self-propelled artillery (ATP) PEM contracts, is precisely to boost this Catalan industrial and technological ecosystem, acting as a driving force and fostering strategic alliances so that Catalan SMEs can join the ATP supply chain, as well as other major technological projects undertaken by the company.

With this event, EM&E Group reinforces its commitment to strengthening the Catalan industrial ecosystem and demonstrates its desire for the “driving force effect” to mean shared growth, positioning the Spanish defense industry on the international stage.
