EM&E Group joins forces with leading Spanish companies for new self-propelled artillery programmes

EM&E Group, a leading Spanish company in defence and security innovation and technologies, has signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with national technology and industrial companies to develop new self-propelled artillery (ATP) systems for the Army. In this regard, it has brought Aicox, Alpe, Arquimea, Dicor, GMV, Nabla, Piedrafita, Umec and Veiru on board the project, ensuring that the programme has an entirely Spanish technological and industrial base.

By combining the specific capabilities of each of these companies, EM&E Group guarantees that the technical knowledge and production capacity of the new ATP systems will remain within Spain, reducing dependence on external supplies and ensuring freedom of operational action for the Armed Forces. This collaboration will also integrate industrial and technological capabilities from different parts of Spain into a common high-tech project, which in turn will strengthen the national industrial fabric and territorial cohesion.

In the words of Javier Escribano, president of EM&E Group: ‘The combination of the capabilities of all these companies will enable the ATP programmes to become a true national project. Strengthening the national economic fabric is the only way to ensure that Spain leads the way in its own technology and maintains a solid industrial capacity in the face of future challenges.’
