Madrid, October 18, 2024. ESCRIBANO Mechanical & Engineering, a leading Spanish company in innovation and technologies for defense and security, has been awarded the framework agreement for the supply of two unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) aunav.NEO HD to the Military Emergency Unit (UME), mainly for radiological and chemical detection.

This contract is part of the first major tender carried out by the UME for its Drone Unit, a strategic call aimed at providing its troops with a rapid response capability in ground systems. Of the four lots of the tender, ESCRIBANO presented itself to lot 1, being selected thanks to the quality and technical capabilities of its aunav.NEO HD robots. Of the four lots of the tender, ESCRIBANO presented itself to lot 1, being selected thanks to the quality and technical capabilities of its aunav.NEO HD robots.

Manufactured in ESCRIBANO’s facilities in Binéfar (Huesca), the aunav.NEO HD is a remotely operated ground vehicle with all-terrain capability, designed to operate in critical scenarios and hostile environments. It is mainly intended for First Responders and the military market and is part of the medium UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) segment. Its main applications include detection and deactivation of explosive devices, nuclear, radiological and chemical emergency management, and missions in high-risk environments.

The robot provides accurate information on contamination levels in nuclear and radiological emergencies, facilitating decision making in critical situations. It is also capable of intervening in chemical emergency scenarios and in CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) missions. The versatility of the aunav.NEO HD allows it to be adapted to different loads, so it can be used in logistical support, health, surveillance, reconnaissance and route clearance operations.

This project is part of ESCRIBANO’s commitment to innovation and remote systems, reinforcing its commitment to the development of advanced technological solutions for the military and emergency sector, as well as its mission to ensure the safety of operatives in the field.

Extensive experience in the development of autonomous vehicles.

ESCRIBANO has extensive experience in the field of robotics, which positions it as a leading national company at the technological forefront in this type of systems. In fact, its robotics unit has been manufacturing unmanned vehicles (UGV) for more than two decades and providing the latest technology in the development of its robots, which are already in service in the Armed Forces and State Security Forces, such as the Army, the Air and Space Forces, the Guardia Civil, the National Police and the Mossos d’Esquadra. In addition, its autonomous systems are present in more than 20 countries, which demonstrates the reliability, security and capability of this system in the fight against terrorism, a system that is supported by various institutions not only in Spain, but also internationally.
