- The company has delivered its aunav.NEO HD robot to the Mossos, which will be used by the TEDAX-NRBQ Explosive Ordnance Disposal Area (ATEDAX).
- This contract is the result of the experience of EM&E’s robotics unit in the manufacture of autonomous vehicles.
Barcelona, December 18, 2024. Escribano Mechanical & Engineering (EM&E), a leading Spanish company in innovation and technology for Defense and Security, has delivered to the Mossos d’Esquadra two units of its aunav.NEO HD explosive ordnance disposal system, a remotely operated ground vehicle designed to carry out dangerous missions and ensure the safety of people.
With the acquisition, the TEDAX-NRBQ Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit of the Mossos d’Esquadra will have a lightweight system, specialized in the detection, handling and deactivation of explosive devices, as well as the execution of missions in nuclear, radiological, biological and chemical risk environments.
Manufactured at EM&E’s facilities in Binéfar (Huesca), the aunav.NEO HD is the only robot on the market with a variable geometry system. This gives it greater versatility, allowing it to increase or decrease its width to adapt to the environment of the mission in which it operates, being able to provide logistical support, medical, surveillance, reconnaissance and cleaning of routes. The system includes an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) platform, an articulated robotic arm capable of opening different types of building or vehicle doors, vision and communication modules, and a portable control unit.
Rafael de Solís, director of EM&E’s robotics unit, says: “We have always worked to offer the latest technology on the market to our Armed Forces and State Security Forces. We are proud that the Mossos d’Esquadra trust in our robotic systems for the development of their operations”.
EM&E has extensive experience in the field of robotics, which positions it as a leading national company at the technological forefront in this type of systems. Its robotics unit has been manufacturing unmanned vehicles (UGV) for more than two decades and providing the latest technology in the development of its robots, which are already in service in the Armed Forces and State Security Forces, such as the Army, the Air and Space Forces, the Guardia Civil, the National Police and the Mossos d’Esquadra.
In addition, its autonomous systems are present in more than 20 countries. That demonstrates the reliability, security and capability of this system in the fight against terrorism, a system on which several institutions in Spain and internationally are betting.
