The Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles, today visited the EM&E Group facilities in Cordoba, in an event that was also attended by the Secretary of State for Defence, Amparo Valcarce. During the visit, Robles learned about the technological and production capabilities of the company in the Andalusian city, where it has become a driving force that not only generates direct employment but also indirect employment, favouring the economic fabric of Cordoba.
During the tour of the more than 23,000m2 that EM&E Group has in the industrial estate Rabanales 21 in Cordoba, the Minister and the Secretary were able to see the advances in the defence systems that EM&E Group is developing in Cordoba and to learn about the investments that the company is making in the city, where it continues to expand its production capacities. Recently, EM&E Group made an investment of 18 million euros in high-tech machinery, which in the coming months will be added to the machines that the company already has in operation in Cordoba, bringing the company’s investment in this type of machinery to 25 million euros.
In addition, the company is also investing in land expansion and will add an additional 3,000m2 to its manufacturing plant at which will serve to increase its production capacity.
This increase in capacity will also translate into growth in terms of employees. Just one year after starting its activity in Cordoba, EM&E Group already employs almost 100 people in the locality and plans to increase this figure to 300 professionals by 2030, for which it works closely with various vocational training centres in the region and with the University. In addition, the company not only generates direct employment but also indirect employment, through collaboration with the various local companies with which it works, thus promoting economic development and strengthening the industrial fabric of Cordoba.
